Virtual Spotters Chat 2 April 19:00 GMT

On 19 March we organized a group chat with the aim of just getting together in this time of COVID-19 crisis and exchanging thoughts. Even though we quite hastily arranged it last minute, more than 80 Spotters were there, from North America, the Middle East and Europe!

It was heartwarming to see how Spotters – who often haven’t even met in person but are connected through the Spotters community – comforted each other. And of course we made a lot of fun of each other and ourselves. It gave us strength to carry on, and a great new initiative was born right after the meeting (more news soon)…

Thursday 2 April 19:00 GMT we’re on again!

If you want to join, please do the following about an 1 hour before we start:
1) Join the chat via this link:
2) Post a photo/video and a short text to introduce yourself. Also do this if you have already done so in the previous chat. If you don’t new participants can’t see your name.
3) Change your name & add your city. E.g. Mike (NYC)

Some tips:
> Use “WhatsApp web” – faster!
> Tag participants with the “@”

Please only post during the chat (apart from your intro post)

Spotters weekend 2020?

We promised to let you know before April if Spotters Weekend 2020 is on for early November. We were looking forward to sharing some really exciting news about something we’ve been working on since early 2020…

But due to the current circumstances,  we hope you understand we cannot make a final decision. We hope to get back to you as soon as possible, as we really understand you all need plenty of notice to schedule a weekend away.

Oleksandr, our new Kyiv Spotter!

I arrived in Kyiv to study at our national polytechnic university and stayed here after my graduation. I now work in IT… I’m a fan of urbanism and the development of modern cities. It is always great to spot the best relevant practices all over the world, and especially to notice them when they appear in Kyiv…

We’re excited to welcome our new Kyiv Spotter, Oleksandr! Check out his local favorites above.

Our new Tbilisi Spotter, Keto!

I love nature and cozy places and always try to find new spots in my city where I can relax, get energised and spend my free time with my friends. I love nature, long walks, art, coffee, food, old buildings and vintage style…

Excited to welcome our new Tbilisi Spotter, Keto! Check out her first articles about her city’s favorite spots below.

Our new Malmö Spotter, Sharon!

I find Malmö to be the ideal size in terms of providing both “big city” amenities and a hometown feel. Malmö has a very international vibe, owing partly to its proximity and direct connection to Copenhagen. The growing food culture and start-up scene give it a very youthful energy that is so inviting.
We’re excited to welcome our new Malmo Spotter, Sharon! Check out her first articles for the best spots to look at the harbor traffic, a restaurant with indoor boules courts, the architectural wonders of the library & train station…

Our new Mexico City Spotter – Mariana!

My biggest passion is traveling; for this reason, I am a travel designer and consultant. I enjoy meeting new people and different cultures and offer them my best recommendations around the world. I have lived in 3 different countries apart from Mexico and traveled all over. Still, my favorite place of all is Mexico.

We are excited to welcome our new Mexico City Spotter, Mariana! Check out her first articles below, including her favorite pulquerías, cantinas and more!

Rahul – our new Geneva Spotter!

I work as Programme Officer in the United Nations lead agency for Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). I have come up with an interesting sentence that I often tell guests or friends visiting my city: you can either buy an around-the-world flight ticket to see the world or just stay in Geneva and let all those people come here and meet you.

We’re excited to welcome our new Geneva Spotter, Rahul! From vegan cafes to his favorite bridge over the river Rhone, check out his articles above!
